Meet our Art & Design Lead

Mr. Childs serves as our esteemed Art and Design Lead, dedicated to enriching our students’ creative journeys. He meticulously ensures that every child has numerous opportunities to study the works of famous artists, gaining a deep understanding of diverse art designs. Under his guidance, children are inspired to create their own original pieces, often drawing inspiration from the masters they have studied.

They learn various artistic methods and experiment with a wide range of media, from painting and drawing to sculpture and digital design. The ultimate goal is that through these experiences, every child develops a genuine appreciation for art from around the world.

Primary School Art Quiz: The Big (Creative) Questions

(These questions explore the fun, feeling, and creativity of learning art.)

Question 1: The Magic Pencil Imagine you found a magical pencil that could bring anything you drew to life! The catch is, you can only draw one thing, and it has to be helpful.

  • What is the very first thing you would draw with your magic pencil?
  • And where would you put it?

Question 2: The Sound of Color Art isn’t just about what you see; it’s about what you feel! Think about your very favorite color. If that color had a special sound or a piece of music to match it, what would it be?

  • Which color are you thinking of?
  • And what noise or instrument do you think it sounds like? (e.g., Is blue a calm piano, or is red a loud drum?)

Question 3: The World’s Biggest Gallery We often think of art as paintings in museums, but art is everywhere!

  • If you could turn any building in the world into a giant art canvas (like a school, a skyscraper, or even a castle), which building would you choose?
  • And what amazing, colorful picture would you paint on it?
