Choosing the right school for your child is a big decision, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. At Parkwood Academy, we pride ourselves on our nurturing environment, brilliant staff, and family-style community. We welcome children from age 2 in our nursery, right through to year 6.

Our Provision

  • Nursery – Welcoming children from 2 years old, our nursery is a caring and stimulating place for your child to start their learning journey.
  • Reception – Children can start full-time in Reception in the September following their fourth birthday.
  • Key Stage 1 – Years 1 and 2 (ages 5–7)
  • Key Stage 2 – Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 (ages 7–11)

Visiting Parkwood Academy

We encourage prospective families to come and see our school in action. You’ll have the opportunity to meet staff, see our classrooms, and ask any questions you might have. Please contact our school office to arrange a visit – we’d love to meet you and your child.

How to Apply

Reception Admissions:

Admissions for our Reception class are managed by Essex County Council.

Nursery Admissions:

For places in our nursery, please contact the school office directly at
nursery@parkwoodacademy.org. We will be happy to discuss availability and help guide you through the application process.

Support for Parents and Carers

We understand that starting a new school can be a big step for children and families. We offer:

  • Welcome packs for all new pupils and parents, including information on school routines, uniform, and tips for a smooth start.
  • Summer term free weekly prep group to help your child settle in confidently.
  • Personal support: Our friendly office team are always happy to answer your questions, whether it’s about admissions, visits, or daily school life.
